So here is a fact - Last night I watched four movies, one after another till 5 am. I woke up at 11 am today morning, feeling luxuriously decadent and woolly-headed. But, strangely happy and satisfied. I have some extremely important deadlines coming up and have never been so stressed before. I was just draining myself with work. So instead, I "broke the rule", set aside the work and gave myself a little break from the mundane. And, it has made me come up with a really good idea for this particular post that I'm writing.
What is the difference between living and existing? I like to ask this question often in my life coaching group practice sessions (you know the one I'm getting certified for) because many of us go through our days on autopilot - without fully living. And the simple act of thinking about the answer to this question puts you in a state of mindfulness and awareness. We often get so caught up in simply existing - in thinking about how busy we are, emails and messages we have to return, distractions from social media, and the dreams we’re putting off because of fear or uncertainty. That it can be easy to forget to experience life in its purest form and without judgment.
SO, coupled with the information I know to be inherently true and the fact that we are often far more compassionate with others than we are with ourselves, I have a few things to say to you. Please listen.
As we develop a sophisticated understanding of freedom, we start realizing that we must assume responsibility to make things better, writes a well known Indian yogi. Freedom is for love. It is given to man as a task to be accomplished. There is no freedom without truth — Pope John Paul II
Another new year is here. All people dream of a happy and fortuitous future. May this New Year be filled with happiness and peace, with less war and conflict than in the year gone by. It’s not enough to pray and hope for a favourable future. We should also be ready to work with alertness, determination, and self-confidence. Realizing our past mistakes and learning from them, we should move forward and work with enthusiasm. If we put in the effort, we will definitely receive God’s grace. Then, we may be able to create a world filled with goodness, peace, and love. May the New Year enable us to come closer to God, nature and our fellow beings.
